Two potent totalitarian movements emerged in the 20th century: National Socialism and Communism. Both can be viewed as the consequence of existential angst and inauthenticity. Both were supported by the lie.

Hitler was NOT elected in a landslide majority - I don't think his NSDAP ever achieved great than 33% or so in the last free election.

Hitler never had a majority in free elections, he was even losing votes in the last elections before he became chancellor: His party fell from 38 to 34 percent in 1932.

Hitler was never elected to anything. The best he or the Nazi party did, was come second in the 1932 elections. This led to him being offered the job of Chancellor, which allowed him to hijack the government and rig the next election. Next step after that was to run a false flag operation called the Reichstag fire and declare martial law, which meant no more elections as long as he lived.

I am no fan of Stalin & it it true that he is reponsibile for millions of innocent deaths. However, it should be stated that if it wasn't for Stalin's successful defense of the invasion of the Soviet Union by Fascist Germany, there is a very good chance that Hitler would have won World War 2. Let's be clear of several things. Hitler was deteremined to persecute a war of annhilation & world conquest that would have destroyed democracy & in the early stages of the WW2 he came frighteningly close to achieving this. This is one of the reasons why he is so remembered & commands more attention by historians than Mao or Stalin. To simply say Stalin & Mao was as bad as Hitler & to reduce "evil" for want of a better word, to body counts, is misleading & demonstrates an ignorance of the end motives of these dictators.

Thanks & you are totally correct about China. The present persecution of the Uighur people by the Chinese Communist Party is frightening. Perhaps the worst thing about any totalitarian society is the secrecy. The truth often only emerges a long time after the terrible events have occured. +Thsp S

Lol no, im sorry i probably didnt word that out very well.
I liked what you said, it was an interesting reminder about our global history.
My comment on history repeating itself is about China and the communism and totalitarism over there. No room for religion and many companys owned by the state by so called company partys.

In my original comment i was reffering to youre comment on something positive about Stalin.
Further more i absolutely agree on what you said and i thank you for sharing youre knowledge about it. I liked it!

Did I say he wasn't dangerous, friend? What part of what I am discussing is a "story?"+Thsp S

+turnerchas8 Yeah, nice story friend. Stalin was a dangerous man. Its almost impossible to understand that this happened and still is happening.

+Thsp S Stalin made some very poor decisions prior to Hitler launching Operation Barbarossa. His extreme paranoia had resulted in him eliminating many of his top military personnel, resulting in a shortage of capable leadership in this area. Despite many warnings, he refused to believe that the Germans were intending to invade, even when several Communist sympathising German soldiers crossed into Soviet territory prior to the invasion to warn them. He foolishly believed that Hitler would not violate the non-aggression pact he had signed with them, despite Hitler's past form. The result was that the Nazis got the jump on the Soviets & the result was a tragedy for the Soviet people. Regarding the two dictators, I can't remember who said it but it rings true "We had to get rid of Stalin, but we had to get rid of Hitler first" (the greater danger).

Hitler was no "amateur". He killed a lot more people than 6 million jews. 20 million + in the Soviet Union through his actions on the Eastern Front (many of them civilians). Also, many of the deaths under Mao were the result of the misguided & negligent policies of the Great Leap Forward. Hitler on the other hand, actively sought the destruction of his those he hated. Almost any legal framework in the world would distinguish between a death caused by negligence & one caused by murder. But this inconevnient detail doesn't even enter into Peterson's realm of thought.

what my beloved Dr. Peterson is getting wrong right at start is, that the Jews where "theoretical" enemys - they where real! The Jews where the people who brought the US into WW1 and also who where the people who declared WAR on germans prioir to 1939 to the german state. Also mass-genocide was happening prior to 1939 on ethnic germans and also ethnic ukrainiens was happening in the polish gegion - the germans asked to stopp that genocide and all they heared was "this does not have to concern you!" by the brits and polish government,

The germans offered multiple times to the jews just to leave germany and also offered multiple times to get back to peace withe britain, france and poland to end the retarded brother war!
Also with offers to retread from occupied France, Belgium Netherlands and Poland except the regions genuinly pupliced by ethnic germans like Elsas-Lothringen, Böhmen and the Schlesien.

you know who refused to? the Jews and the Brits!
War could have been over after the germans and the russians conquered poland. sure the ruskies qould not have pulled back but the Wehrmacht would have... also second chance was after the fall of France - again the BRITS refused! THE FUCKING BRITS DID - not the frensh!

What else option was left to the germans?

One Point: Hitler aka the NSDAP was elected by only 31,x %. He became Chancelor through empowerement in Corporation with Elites, Industrial Owners and others and they knew that they'll not win a further Election.

That's why it's called "Machtergreifung" = Takeover.

With friendly Regards

This is one of the best lectures ive ever had the pleasure of seeing. But i have a doubt id love to discuss. When he talks about quantum physics, physicists do indeed say that the pool of potential that is reality doesnt take a form until someone looks at it. However, in my understanding of the matter that claim doesnt talk about concious beings. "Observing" in quantum physics means something more akin to "interacting". so if an electron interacts with lets say another electron the probability wave colapses into an event that manifests itself in the world, whether or not there is a conscious being looking at it. So did he misunderstood the claim physicists make or am i misunderstanding him. Anyone cares to discuss? I found that part after the mosquitoes a little confusing although i get the general message, its so interesting.

If the " Right " is responsible for racism then why has racism
throughout history been a part of the Marxist strategy to separate
people and set them at each others throats. Why has racism been at the foundation of the democrat party, slavery, segregation, Jim crow, KKK. Nazi ideology at its root is socialist Socialism is Marxism Marxism is on the left. Fascism is Marxist at its root check the origins, who were the brains behind the ideology all French liberal died in the wool socialist communists.

He's got Hitlers time frame wrong. He wanted to go to art school before ww1 as he was drifting after his father had kicked him out.( or maybe his father had died, I can't remember exactly now) After ww1 he worked for the German gov infiltrating the Munich beer cellars to gain info on the start of the fascists and the communists who were agitating to gain power, where he became radicalized as the communists were Jewish, who he blamed for Germany losing the war. He joined the Fascists where he became a speaker and met Rudolpf Hess who he later shared a cell and co wrote Mien Kampf.
Just saying.

It's strange, these epeleptic auras really sound a lot like the experience of the drug Salvia. I wonder if this has been studied at all? It's a very strange substance because its effects seem to be very different to other halluginogens, and works by stimulating a different brain receptor (kappa opoid). It's also generally not pleasurable but highly disorientating.

There was a film on Netflix about this daycare scare and how the California Police and some supposed expert on child abuse desroyed this family who ran a daycare. Eventually it was discovered that the woman who started the claims was insane, the expert was a fraud with no qualifications, this didnt stop the DA from spending millions of dollars and trying the accused several times.

The Nazis actually based their rocket engines on Robert Goddard's designs, but scaled up. Goddard had many patents by the time von Braun began with the Nazis, and WvB frequently communicated with Goddard before the war.. Nazi original rocket inventions were more in the guidance systems. The largest deployed US thermonuclear bomb was the Mk41, with a maximum yield of 25 MT. The largest Soviet bomb was a political posture only, too big to deliver over far distance by air: 50 MT Tsar bomb.

A recent Netflix documentary “Trump: An American Dream” interviewed the Trump campaign and revealed that many of his campaign policies were based off of the amount of retweets a particular issue had received... I believe it was 100. They would make a statement like “We should build a wall on the border!” If it was heavily retweeted, they then made it into a policy. I’m not making a direct comparison between Trump and Hitler but I do believe that he is currently the voice of the American collective unconscious. AKA The “Silent Majority”

I'm so curious what this guys tests looked like seeing as all his lectures were/are like this. No notes on the board. No PowerPoint. Just 2 hours of non stop genius. I wouldn't even know what to take notes on. I would just write the word "Everything" on my notebook and enjoy the moment and likely fail the class.

And did he do this for every class he had that day? Holy shit! That's like 3 or 4 times! Maybe more. Dudes a straight machine!

Dr. Peterson is one reason I love the internet and YouTube. Without these sources of alternate information, we are left totally to the dictates of the news/entertainment media and the universities. Now. media exists where we can easily find people like him, who can so elegantly and and persuasively verbalize what many of us have been sensing for a long time.
