I appreciate this song more now that I am back in his fold.

Consider the lilies of the field,
How they grow, how they grow.
Consider the birds in the sky,
How they fly, how they fly.
He clothes the lilies of the field.
He feeds the birds in the sky.
And He will feed those who trust Him,
And guide them with His eye.

Consider the sheep of His fold,
How they follow where He leads.
Though the path may wind across the mountains,
He knows the meadows where they feed.

He clothes the lilies of the field.
He feeds the birds in the sky,
And He will feed those who trust Him,
And guide them with His eye.

Consider the sweet, tender children
Who must suffer on this earth.
The pains of all of them He carried
From the day of His birth.
He clothes the lilies of the field,
He feeds the lambs in His fold,
And He will heal those who trust Him,
And make their hearts as gold.

He clothes the lilies of the field,
He feeds the lambs in His fold,
And He will heal those who trust Him,
And make their hearts as gold.

What a beautiful song ....Heavenly father lives indeed

This song was given to me by angels, who were wiping away my tears as I was coming to grips with my mother's passing.
When I hear it I am comforted even as tears stream down my face. I know she is with God. I love you, Mom!!!

Listening to this makes me miss our dear late prophet President Thomas S. Monson. I am so comforted knowing that the Lord's work in his church here on earth does not stop in the event of death of leadership. This church will never be removed from the earth again, neither will the priesthood power given to the men of the earth. Whenever I hear this song, I feel as though I can see President Monson in heaven reunited with his wonderful wife, Francis. So much confort comes from this gospel, including knowing that there IS life after death.

I'd love it if there was a version of this without choir. Not that the choir sounds bad at all, but I've often wished that there were at least 1-3 orchestral only performances during conference rather than having everything be strictly choral w/occasional accompaniment.

The gift,, “ Jesus loves the little children of the world “

Do you see that child? Your Lord’s love in the flesh. That little babe may, one day, compose the worlds greatest music.

3 of my favorite Hymns were played at Pres. Monson's funeral and this is one of them. Thank you, Mormon Tabernacle Choir, for sharing your talents with us. O' Divine Redeemer and Dear to the Heart of the Shepard: absolutely glorious and motivating messages of faith and love for our brothers and sisters.

My sister-in-law played this and sang this at my father's funeral last June. I can't get through this song without blubbering. It stirs the deepest feelings of my soul with gratitude for what our Redeemer has done and continues to do for us. I have full faith, if I am faithful to the end, I can see my dad again. I miss him and this song will always remind of him and my mom (it's her favorite song).

Oh how I want to become like Jesus when I hear the lovely strains of this music! He IS the Lord of all the earth and his love knows no bounds or respect for persons. I'm thankful for this inspired choir!

Reading all these comments make me feel like I have nerves of steel... I don't cry when someone dies, at baptisms, or anything. Is that bad?

No. That's not bad. Some people's emotions are closer to the surface than others and that is true for various reasons. Often, however, the way we experience our deeply felt emotions changes with the ebb and flow of life. So you may at some point find you are unexpectedly moved to tears by something that touches you. Either way God loves you no less (but no more) than those who weep easily.

When this hymn comes on my iPod as I hike, all is well, so well. What a beautiful blessing. Choral music is so good for the soul, heart & mind, for the day, for the night, for the young & old, for the grateful or cold. Thank you, writers, arrangers, singers, musicians, and all who seek & listen to the beauty.

Reminds me that all creations are Gods' and that He considers all things beautiful. Indeed, beautiful is this hymn and reflective of His wonders. It brings me comfort too when things are rough.
