You just destroyed all electronics on the door of the car. Highly unprofessional. The inside of the door just became rust.

+Mus Tinter At least put a plastic sheet to cover the door trim panels from inside. While yes, water gets inside the door all the time, the door trim panels are not designed to be sprayed on. So cover them up. It's that simple.

All that water really necessary!!!!!

i tried tint my car window and i spray water to the class and the water fall in to the door and my window doesn’t work anymore

The switch probably shorted out from water. I will usually place a towel over the switch or just be careful on how much water I use on a particular door. If you are tinting the same window 2 or more times it becomes really excessive if you didn't cover anything up

yeah... I'll just pay someone to do it

What was that spray you were using before it was soapy water ??

What is that yellow piece he uses called? I can't quite understand what he is saying.

It's called the conquistador, most tint tool websites sell them like 44tools.com and tools4tint.com

How long does it take to do the whole car?

An experienced tinter will be about 1 to 2 hours on average. If you are DIYing it then it's an all day project

I'm not even going to try it.

Bravooooo

What are you spraying down the windows with?

Do you people see the amount of water he has inside of the door? How am I to protect my electrical window switches and upholstery on my car door?

Guys don’t be afraid to try this. This video is dead on. I had 0 experience with this but I bought (2) $15 rolls of 5% tint and I essentially wasted 3/4 of it but I finally got the hang of it and didn’t a great job. So go out and spend $30-100 and DO IT YOURSELF. You’ll feel a sense of pride after.

Cinna Mon I’m probably going to redo it this weekend. I did the front 2 windows on my truck and I know I can do better. But I will give you an update after a few months. I used Gila heat shield plus 5% tint

Please give me an update on your tint in about 3 months! I wanna try it, but um scared that the tint might bubble up or fall off!

The tint is supposed to be tucked below the inner window seal right? I just did my front windows and they came out great until i went to roll the window down 3 days later and the tint peeled up. The problem is that the outer window seal (where I am cutting the tint) is much higher up than the inner seal. Any tips to get around this? I assume just shift the tint down more once the bottom edge is cut?

Yes definitely should tuck on a Mercedes

+TintStuff Thanks, Its a mercedes so the seals are really tight as is. Probably best that I tuck them below. I guess after I cut the bottom I will shift the tint down a lot more and try again. Thanks for the tip!

Yes, just like with the car I'm tinting in this video. You have to compensate for the difference. Some vehicles are actually fine to not tuck below the seal but I'd always recommend you do. You probably didn't have the bottom edge lay completely flat which is why it peeled so soon

I know you’re a pro and whatever, and I’m not trying to tell you how to do your job. But you put a fucking ocean of water down the inside door panel

3:46 can anyone explain why he smacks the tint and creates that finger? It’s the only thing in the video he doesn’t explain so I’ve got no idea if it’s important or not lol

TintStuff I should’ve asked when I had your attention but what tint brand do you recommend? I went with Gila heat shield plus 5% and it didn’t seem like cheap dyed stuff. I just tinted my truck today and my first attempt on the passenger side was horrid. Lol. Definitely didn’t shrink it enough. My 2nd attempt on the drivers side was damn near flawless. Somehow I wasn’t able to get all of the water out. Probably just need a better squeegee

TintStuff thanks boss. Keep it up.

You caught me at a good time lol

Just like half an inch. You want to keep as much film on the glass as possible to get a good idea of how much film needs to be shrunk. Laying the film over the sides kinda causes ripples on the side and you might not shrink the bottom enough

TintStuff 3:41 put your pattern a little away from the left and bottom edge. So not lined up perfectly?

TintStuff thanks for the ridiculously quick response, one more question: when you originally started shrinking you say to keep your template slightly up from the bottom and slightly away from the left edge. I can’t really tell on the vid but how much of a gap do you have?

Sham wowq

Best tint to use in a decent budget please! I need to be able to apply it easy, I bought a crappy ebay brand and screwed it all up! I'm looking at lexen, Huper Optik, asw, llumar, Huper. Your thoughts!?

Interesting approach, very effective. At first i assumed you were going to tint the outside of the windows. If you never tried this before, do realize you may well end up with one big mess. I know - I did. I really had to build up a lot of confidence in myself just to be able to tackle this job. I really hate to see this guy using soapy water when my instructions said to use water. Why didn`t my instructions say anything about using soapy water??? Anyway expect to mess up on your first go, simple as that. I made templates for the rear windows and cut finished pieces ready to use except for the sidewindows since these were pretty much square and without any convex to speak of. Understand this: If the tinted film comes in contact with the window and there is no water/soapy water in between the two, you can NOT readjust the film. If you try to lift it back up, the glue on the film WILL come off and make a mess for you so be very liberal with the atomizer! I suppose working with a good quality product makes your life easier but you really have to know what you`re doing here. Trial & Error is key folks. You live - You learn !

Okay ima just pay.

Who thought bout Chrisfix when he said soapy water ???

You most likely ruined all the electrical in that door you dump so much water into the interior seals had it drip into the speaker and the door handle which will collect moisture inside the door panel. Bad for electrical and bad for padding in door panel that would lead to mold.
