Thank you for sharing this video! I’ve been using this for several weeks now. It takes a little discipline to grab that marker but works so well to plan meals AHEAD of time!

Thanks for this!! would you make a video about meal ideas? Thanks!

WOW: Lightbulb moment for me! Genius, thank you. Moving out dead inventory and starting my version of your printed list! LOVED the video made perfect sense to me!

This is just an update: I made a second list and will do about 5 total to get all the recipes we like. As I mentioned before, each page contains 18 recipes. There are 2-3 repeats on each page because we really like those ones. Yesterday I made my 2nd list and checked what my DH would like to eat in the next two weeks. It took me about 10 minutes (this includes the deciding and the highlighting). I don't put days on the menu, just the list of meals because we never know what's going to happen that night. For ex., today there was a huge fire in town and my DH was gone from 7 am to 10 pm so I ate at home and my DH at the job. Nicole

This sounds so easy!

Question about Aldi part of your list?? I see you only have aisle 1 and 2. There are actually three main aisles. Do you not buy from one aisle? I think we shop at the same Aldi btw!

This makes so much sense:)

Hello! I'm a pastor's wife and home schooling mom of 3 girls. I've been watching your videos for about 2 months now. At first, I was skeptical, but now, as I've been working through each room of my home and seeing the benefits, I am 100% on board! When you said that the things in our homes are like inventory we then have to manage, the "light bulb" went on for me. I can't even tell you how many bags and boxes of items have been either passed on to someone who could use it, or to Goodwill over the last 1 1/2 months. Some even just went to the trash! Specifically, having my food organized and meal planning has made such a difference. Our grocery bill is cut in almost half. I have been using the top grocery portion of your meal planning sheet on Excel. I plan my meals in my planner, which is just my preference. My husband has come to see the benefits and we have not had the same meal twice (except for pizza on Thursdays) in just over 1 month. When I get to the end of my recipes, I'll just cycle back through and that is such a huge weight off my mind!!! I just wanted to take some time to thank you for your videos and let you know how much they are appreciated. I also appreciate the videos you do with your sister. I appreciate the encouragement and the scripture based topics discussed. I look forward to seeing your videos whenever they come out! May the Lord Jesus richly bless you all!

Would love to know how you manager photos. Digital and physical. Been on a purging journey for over a year now, but you've ramped it up for me a whole new level. I'm so grateful! Thank you for the positive impact your experience has had on my life!

I love your system...working on implementing it. I saw on your example an item called Loaded Tuna...I gotta know the recipe please! Thanks!!

I have tried every meal plan going and they work for a week or two brilliantly and life is so much easier, but the effort to do them made it a chore. This meal plan however works a dream and fits in with our busy lifestyle. Thank you 👍 I am also new to the minimalist lifestyle and am gradually reducing clutter and making my life simpler and happier. So inspired by your channel.

This video is mind-blowing! I never thought to just use a basic list of 20-30 meals. Thank you so much!

I plan one month at a time, that way I don't have to spend time doing it each week. I plan what I'll need to get in the initial grocery haul and in the follow-up haul (about mid-way through the month - for fresh produce and dairy as needed). I always leave room for leftover nights in my calendar, that way we use up what's already been made. I always start the process by taking inventory of what I have, just like you. I only cook maybe 2-3 times a week. I love meal planning <3

OMgoodness!!! 😮😮 This has been the BEST and easiest way to meal plan I have EVER seen!! Our fridge stays empty and clean b/c there aren’t left overs. And we had so much food in the pantry that I literally haven’t had to buy groceries in 3 weeks!! I LOVE YOU!! 🤣🤣

The limiting inventory concept is a game changer. I have been figuring this out myself while trying to do a pantry challenge with budgeting to scale back grocery costs by using up what you have. You found the perfect way of explaining this!!!

THIS IS GENIUS!!! <3 thanks for sharing!

Nothing new. I did this 20 yrs ago. This is how housewives did it decades ago. You're not a minimalist

Need clarification. I love this but can you clarify what are the Isle 1 and 2 they seem placed in odd spots on the sheet are those the isles in a certain store? Also what's "longer"?

What do you keep looking up at?

Must take a long time to type and print these forms - what with changes to left over and need to use items? Wouldn't an ink pen work easier?

I really appreciated the info and play by play. Thank you! PS it would be more personal and professional if you looked at the camera and not above it. :)

You've given me some great tips here and an idea to pop a whiteboard on my freezer to keep an inventory of its contents. I'm always forgetting what I've bought and stored. Thank you :)

started meal planning in 1995 of so. When the children were young and educated at home. A note book did the trick back then. I shopped every two weeks. We made an outing out of it had lunch and so forth. I would just write M. T. W. etc on the side and write my prayer, chore, exercise and on the next page my meal plan for two weeks. I really stuck to it. Now we live in the city and it's so easy to eat fast and lazy. I'm finding it harder to stick to my meal plan. Thanks for sharing this

Okay, so a month ago I left a nice comment. I reviewed my planning meals system since it's time to shop again. I'll repeat this: I hate shopping of any kind (clothing, food, etc.). So I decided to try your system. It took me about 3 hours to write down each ingredients of about 20 recipes we really like (we have hundred we really like). It's divided by sections of our grocery store. All the recipes are numbered and all the ingredients are as well (remember I don't know my recipes by heart). So when I chose which recipes I would make this time I went through the list and highlighted the recipes then the items. If I choose recipes 3-7-10-14, I will highlight all the ingredients with those numbers. My DH loves the list; so it's a go. Next time I will use two colors, one for the recipes and one for the ingredients. I think in retrospect that it will save me time since it usually takes me about the same time to create a menu and grocery list. Now I just need to highlight. I think I'll go for two months with my 20 recipes. Then switch with others. TFS, Nicole
PS I wanted to add that since I deal with lots of meals on one outing, the grocery items get a sticker to let me know which recipes they belongs to and if they belong to 2-3, they get 2-3 stickers. That includes the meat, fish, poultry, cans (like tomatoes), and others like cheese, etc.

I love your video funny I do a lot of your ideas but not in such an organizes way. Tfs

I love this system! I’ve already been keeping a lower stock of foods and keeping an on going list of what we need, so if we’re low on ketchup I can put it right on the list and not forget and run out or end up with several extras bc I’m at the store and think I need more but I like the idea of having a ready to go shopping list (bc really, we buy mostly the same stuff each week with slight variations) and having a small, reasonable list of meals and just sticking to them. Wow, that was one run on sentence! 😂

Thanks for all you do. I’d already been simplifying, but you’ve been helping even more. It’s hard to find stuff really geared towards families and what you said about everything that comes in (food, kids’ clothes, toys, artwork, etc) is all stuff we have to manage is spot on. It was hard enough to manage everything when it was just me and my husband (with us working together) and now with two kids and him working long hours, I’m in charge of almost everything and it’s challenging. Less stuff is less inventory to manage and it really helps!
